Pooch Atova tablets contains atovaquone which is a broad-spectrum antiprotozoal drug. It works as ubiquinone (Cownzyme Q10) analogue and binds to cytochrome b thus blocks mitochondrial electron transport in parasite cells. It works in combination with azithromycin in treatment of Babesia gibsoni in dogs and have promising results.

Directions for use:
13.2 mg per kg body weight thrice in a day Along with 10 mg per kg body weight azithromycin once in a day for 10 days.
It should be given with fatty meals preferably to maximize its absorption. This frequency and dose are likely to bring parasitaemia below the detection level in PCR. Effect may last upto 4 to 6 weeks.
Avoid doubling up the dose or give extra dose in case of a missed dose.
